Safety

  1. Rules apply at all times car is on track. Snell-rated SA2000, SA2005 or SA2010 helmet required. Roll bar padding required in driver compartment (Fire retardant recommended). SFI-approved full fire suit required. Fire retardant gloves, shoes and neck brace (or head and neck restraint) required.
  2. Right and left seat head supports required if using head restraint system with no neck collar. Recommended: Fire retardant head sock and underwear; collapsible steering shaft.
  3. Driver-side window net required, minimum 16 inch by 20 inch ribbon or mesh style, and must be mounted to roll cage so latch is at top front of window.
  4. Minimum three inch (two-inch with head restraint system) wide SFI-approved five point safety belt assembly required (Y-type shoulder harness not allowed), must be mounted securely to roll cage, and must be no more than three years old.
  5. It is recommended that each racecar have built-in fire extinguishing equipment, but cannot be of the dry powder type (must be Halon 1211 or equivalent).
  6. Drivers should have in their pit area as part of their equipment, at all times, a fully charged dry chemical, Halon (or its equivalent) fire extinguisher. Ten (10) or thirteen (13) pound fire extinguishers are highly recommended.
  7. Absolutely no plastic except from edge of firewall to body skin, nose pieces, tail pieces, and inner wheel tub to body skin.
  8. Fuel injection units recommended having a safety roll over cut off for the fuel pump.
  9. NO BALLASTS ALLOWED!

Age / Experience Limits

  1. This class is intended for young or beginning drivers. 
  2. Any drivers between the age of 12 and 17 will be allowed.  Drivers younger than 12 years of age must be approved by Southern Oklahoma Speedway management by audition. Proof of age will be required.
  3. Drivers over the age of 18 years may participate in this class for their first two years of driving experience only.  This is both for Southern Oklahoma Speedway or other surrounding tracks (if you are on another track’s roster for the past two years that counts toward your two years experience).

Frame

  1. Any domestic or foreign mid size or smaller car allowed only (Maximum 107” wheelbase).
  2. May be front wheel drive or rear wheel drive (rear wheel drive must be 4 cyl. engine only)
  3. May be unibody or full frame, ABSOLUTELY no modifications to the frame or main structure allowed, including strut towers. 
  4. No full size cars, no trucks, no 4x4 vehicles, no all wheel drive vehicles allowed.
  5. Tow chains or cables MUST be installed and easily accessible on the front and rear of the car.  Chain or cable must be able to support the vehicle.
  6. All rear wheel drive must have a 360 degree driveshaft loop no more than 6” behind the front u-joint.  Must be minimum 0.250” x 2 “ steel or 1” tubing.

Body

  1. All plastic, glass, insulation, factory seats, a/c components, and air bags must be removed.
  2. Body must match the frame or structure being used.  No mixing bodies. No aftermarket or homemade body panels allowed except for aftermarket nose and tail pieces may be used, NO WEDGE NOSE PIECES!
  3. No chop tops, sectioning, or shortening body at any area.  Body panels may not overlap. 
  4. No gutting of interior support structure except for inner FRONT doors or kick panels.  This is to allow for door bar or roll cage installation.  If the kick panels are removed the roll cage must be installed in its place.
  5. Doors must be bolted or welded shut. 
  6. Hood and deck lid must be able to open and be held in place at all four corners by hinge/pin or pin/pin combination.
  7. All sun roof and t-top areas must be covered with sheet metal at least the same thickness as the factory body.
  8. No holes in the roof or hood allowed.  Air cleaner or air cleaner stud may NOT protrude through the hood.
  9. No hood scoops, spoilers, wings, or ground effects allowed.
  10. No cutting of body panels except for clearance of tires.
  11. Factory firewall and floorpan must be used.  Holes may only be cut for roll cage installation and must be covered with sheet metal equal to or thicker than the factory floorpan. 
  12. A rear firewall must be installed between the driver seat and the fuel tank or fuel pump area.  Firewalls may be mounted from bottom of center cage support to rear deck.  Must be a minimum 0.050 sheet metal.  No aluminum allowed.  May be bolted or welded in place and must be so area beneath is easily accessible for inspection.
  13. Appearance

      a.         All racecars must have numbers that contrast to body color and must be minimum 4 inches thick and 18 inches tall for both sides and must be 4 inches thick and 20 inches tall for roof and must be clearly legible.  All racecars must have numbers on the right rear corner of the back of the vehicle and must be minimum 4 inches tall.
b.         Officials reserve the right to approve or disapprove any image of lettering or sponsorship on any racecar or pit vehicle entering race surface. Keep in mind this is intended to be a family fun facility.

Roll cage

  1. Roll cage must be a minimum 1.5” x 0.095” steel round tubing only and must be welded!  No soldering, brazing, fittings, or galvanized pipe allowed.
  2. Roll cage must be a minimum 6 point full perimeter cage.  Front and rear down bars must be on the outer corners of the driver’s compartment.  Front and rear down bars must be connected by a bent not sectioned upper halo.
  3. Front down bars recommended to be even with the “A” pillars, center support (roll bar) must be no more than 12” behind driver’s seat. Driver’s seat/seats must be mounted in stock location.  Rear down bars must connect from upper halo to trunk area.
  4. All full frame cars must have cage welded to the frame.  Unibody cars must have roll cage mounted to the floor pan with a 4” x 4” x 0.250” mounting plate installed at all connections.
  5. Brace bars between the down bars must be installed level or no more than 4” below the door window sill.   Braces must be installed so as to crate a “box” around the driver area.
  6. Front braces will be required from the main cage to the strut area.  Recommended to the core support area.  Only one forward brace will be allowed on each side of the vehicle.  A stiffener brace may be installed between the front struts. 
  7. Roll cage must extend beyond the fuel tank/cell area.
  8. A minimum 3 door bars with a minimum of 3 door bar uprights required on both sides of the vehicle.
  9. A 0.125” plate must cover the outside of the door bars where seats are installed.  Plate must extend from rocker panel to the upper door bar and must extend a minimum of 12” in front of front seat to 6” behind rear of driver seat.
  10. All seat mounts must be mounted to the roll cage NOT the body.

Suspension

  1. All suspension components must be OEM only and must be for that vehicle.  No mixing suspension parts.
  2. OEM struts or shocks only…NO RACING OR HI-PERFORMANCE COMPONENTS!!!!!
  3. Springs may not be cut or shortened in any way.  No spring spacers or any height altering devices allowed.
  4. Sway bars may be removed.
  5. Quick release steering wheels allowed.  No quicksteer!
  6. No aftermarket power steering pumps or reservoirs. 
  7. Maximum 5 degrees camber allowed.
  8. Front and rear wheels must be in line and track straight.

Brakes

  1. All brake systems must be completely OEM for that vehicle.  All four brakes must work!  All components must be mounted in stock locations.
  2. No sectioning or altering brake pads
  3. Steel brake lines only. 
  4. If emergency brakes are in vehicle both sides must be hooked up and both sides must be working. 

Tires and Wheels

  1. Any 13”, 14”, or 15” OEM aluminum or any steel wheels allowed only. 
  2. Any DOT non-racing tires allowed only.  All tires must contain a DOT stamp.  Maximum 60 series tires allowed.  Stagger okay.
  3. Minimum 15 lbs. air pressure must be in all tires after completion of the race. 
  4. All wheel offsets must match, no wheel spacers allowed. 
  5. No grooving, siping, grinding, or conditioning of any tires allowed.

Engine and Transmission

  1. Only 3, 4, or 6 cylinder engines allowed.  NO V8 ENGINES!
  2. NO TURBOS OR SUPERCHARGERS!
  3. Rear wheel drive vehicles must be 3 or 4 cylinder only.
  4. ABSOLUTELY NO ENGINE ALTERATIONS ALLOWED!  INCLUDING AFTERMARKET ROCKER COVERS!  No aftermarket adjustable timing pulleys. 
  5. Transmission must be completely stock for that make and model vehicle. 

Fuel System

  1. Fuel injection or carburetors must be completely stock for that vehicle; only choke butterfly may be removed.  Retrofit carburetion may be installed on fuel injected units if offered for that engine.
  2.  All carburetors must be fed by one pushrod style diaphragm pump.  Fuel injection must have OEM or OEM replacement fuel pumps only for that make/model of vehicle! 
  3. Fuel cells strongly recommended!  Must be mounted within confines of cage in trunk area.  Must be bolted down with grade 8 3/8 bolts with a minimum 0.125 2” strap. 
  4. Fuel injected cars with fuel cells installed may install one aftermarket electric fuel pump.
  5. All cars with electric fuel pumps, aftermarket or OEM must have a switch located in front of driver accessible from outside the driver window.  Must be clearly marked “ON” and “OFF”
  6. Fuel pressure must not exceed stock limits for that make of vehicle.
  7. No race fuel no methanol!  Maximum 93 octane allowed.  No additives allowed.
  8. One aftermarket or OEM air cleaner may be installed in stock location or directly on carburetor or throttle body. 
  9. No fuel lines allowed in the driver compartment!

 Exhaust

  1. Only factory exhaust is allowed.  Catalytic converters may be removed.  Exhaust must not be shorter than the rear of the driver seat. 
  2. Exhaust must be factory 2 into 1, no dual exits allowed.  Mufflers required.

Electrical

  1. Only one 12 volt battery allowed.  May be mounted in the truck area in a marine type case.  Battery terminals must be covered with a non-conductive rubber or plastic. 
  2. Only one OEM starter may be used and must be mounted in stock location. 
  3. All ignition products must be OEM or OEM replacement.  NO Hi-performance coils.
  4. No hi-performance chips or programming allowed.  Electronic ECUs may be confiscated for inspection. 
  5. IF ILLEGAL IGNITION, CHIPS, OR ECU PROGRAMMING IS FOUND THE ILLEGAL DRIVER WILL BE SUSPENDED FROM THE CLASS INDEFINITELY!

Protest

  1. Any driver that finishes on lead lap and have competed in the prior two weeks competition may protest another driver that finishes in front of him or her. All protests must be submitted in writing within 15 minutes after completion of race. Once the protest has been initiated the protest cannot be recalled. All protests must be made in cash only and must be given to the appointed track official. All protesting drivers may be accompanied by one additional person. Protested drivers are allowed two additional people to aid with removing of protested parts. Teams are allowed 1 hour for removing any components except in the case a rod and piston need be removed in which 1 hour 30 minutes will be allowed. All teams are responsible for having tools necessary for disassembly. If components cannot be removed within allotted time the protested driver will be disqualified.

a) Section protest – $100.00, $15.00 goes to track – Driver may protest suspension, engine, transmission, or fuel. If fuel is protested laboratory fees will be taken from protest fee. Protests may be anonymous, however, only protesting driver may be present.
b) Complete protest - $225.00, $30.00 goes to track – Complete vehicle may be inspected, only one head may be removed, protesting driver chooses which side. If fuel is protested laboratory fees will be taken from protest fee. Protests may be anonymous, however, only protesting driver may be present.

  1.  If protested driver is found legal, protest monies will be issued to protested driver less fees.
  2.  If protested driver is found illegal, protest monies will be returned to protesting driver less fees and penalties will apply.

a) Major violations – First offense, Loss of points and winnings for current night and must start on back of next heat and feature race / second offense loss of points year to date and suspension up to four weeks in which decision will be made by track director.
b) Minor violations- Loss of points and money for current race

  1. Any driver may protest a total of 2 times per season. A driver may only be protested by another driver a total of 2 times per season.
  2. SOS has the right to protest any driver at any time in which a $50.00 teardown fee will be given to protested driver if found legal.
  3. All decisions will be made by SOS officials and all decisions are FINAL.

Vehicle Claim

  1. Any top four finishing driver may have their vehicle claimed by another driver finishing the checker flag behind them for a fee of $1500.00 or swap. Claimed driver has decision for cash or swap. Claiming driver must have competed for the prior two weeks of competition at SOS without disqualification. Claim must be submitted before leaving the race surface to an SOS official. Claim does not include seat.  Drivers may be claimed a total of three times per season. If claim is denied penalty will be loss of points year to date and loss of current night winnings and will not be able to claim the remainder of the season. SOS has the right to claim after the third claim has been met.
  2.  Claiming drivers will not be eligible to claim again for a minimum of two weeks and must compete a minimum of two consecutive events at SOS in class claiming, and achieving a top four finish in an “A” Feature main event.
